Our Road Ahead

At The Broody Hen, we believe every person deserves meaningful work, community, and a place where they belong.

What began as a small farm vision is growing into something much bigger — a community where adults with disabilities can develop skills, build friendships, live independently, and experience purpose through hands-on work, creativity, and shared life.

We are building this one step at a time.

Our goal is not just to run a program. Our goal is to create a model of inclusion, dignity, and opportunity that can grow for generations. Below is a glimpse of where we are headed.

We are building The Broody Hen one step at a time. This roadmap shows how our programs, community, and vision will grow in the years ahead.

  • In this first phase, our focus is strengthening the programs already taking root at The Broody Hen. Through Farm Fridays, farm stand production, and community gatherings, adults with disabilities are gaining opportunities to work together, learn new skills, and experiece the joy of contributing to something meaningful.

This year is about building strong systems, growing our community of supporters, and laying the groundwork for sustainable growth.

  • As the community around The Broody Hen grows, we will expand opportunities for participants to become more involved in farm life and creative work, increased production, seasonal workshops, and stronger partnerships will allow more adults with disabilities to participate in meaningful activities and develop greater confidence and independence.

This phase focuses on widening the circle of participation while strengthening the programs that are already working.

  • With continued growth and support, we will begin preparing for the next chapter of The Broody Hen. This includes exploring land opportunities and building partnerships needed to create a long-term home for the programs we are developing.

Our vision is to create a place designed intentionally for living, learning, working, and community.

  • This phase represents an exciting step forward as we begin shaping a space where programs can expand and flourish. Gardens, animals, creative workspaces, and gathering areas will provide opportunities for individuals to live, work, learn, and connect in a supportive environment.

The campus will be designed to reflect the heart of The Broody Hen—beautiful, welcoming, and full of life.

  • Our long-term vision is a thriving community where adults with disabilities can experience meaningful work, build lasting friendships, and develop confidence through real participation in farm life and creative projects.

By this stage, The Broody Hen will continue growing into a place where individuals of all abilities are valued, supported, and given the opportunity to contribute their gifts.

Every step of this vision is made possible by the support of our community.
